Verizon Wireless Sued Over V710 Bluetooth Limitations
Kirtland & Packard Has Got Nothing
People get upset when their lack of knowledge or assumptions slaps 'em in the face. Just realize and be happy that VZW made most people smarter consumers--> next time you read "connects to your pc or pda," you will QUESTION "to do what?" Next time you see a product w/ a special feature you might research that special feature untill you fully understand all of its parameters.
But back to the point, Kirtland & Packard have no evidence; they will get an "A" for effort.
VZW deserves to be sued. They are cooks, plain and simple, and they exist solely to screw people out of their hard-earned money.
It's not false because it can hook to your computer, i'm the dumb one???????? You're a joke
Stop BSing, moron.
Sprint also doesn't do a full lockout of the phone ala VZW.
Not justifying Sprint's actions, but VZW is clearly the worst. On a high-end phone clearly intended for business users, they disabled a function many were counting on so they could screw the customer yet again. (unless you think 'Get It Now' exists because people love it so much.)

Go on the streets and ask the average person what bluetooth is. Theyll tell you its from drinking blue KoolAid.
LOL! 🤣 I love it...

Verizon Wireless currently supports three Bluetooth profiles:
· Headset - for connecting Bluetooth headsets
· Hands-Free - for connecting hands-free car kits
· Dial-up Networking (DUN) - to allow the handset to be used as a modem
How is this false advertising?? it states you can connect to a PC to use as a modem
They are COOKS? I'm definately suing VZW then, I thought they were a wireless provider. Now your telling me they are cooks, I was way off-->VZW has been advertising falsely all along if they are cooks.
Don't start calling people dumb or post on a topic when you don't understand something to its full extent.

Are you dumb or blind? It says on VZW's website the phone can hook up to your computer. That's false advertising... deceptive at the very least.

Muchdrama, where do you get these subscriber add and cancels from? Not picking a fight. Just curious as to the source of your info? Thanks.

I wouldn't believe everything the internet tells you. If you did I have a free Ipod waiting for you!!!

Thanks for enlightening me. I'll consider switching to one of the not for profit carriers.
Maybe they have not heard but the phone has been disabled.
When I questioned him and showed him some of the info on the net he said they were wrong. I then further said then if this can be done show me.
He responded that he could not do this because there was no computer with bluetooth available to do it.
Aha I said and went to the car and brought in my PC with bluetooth. I then got alot of he can't do it because its against the policy of Verizon to tamper with my computer YADA YADA YADA.
He said I could take the phone home and try it and if it did no...

Maybe a congretional investigation should be done.A Congressional investigation? For something that any consumer could have simply looked up on the internet? Pfft. Perhaps we should get the NSA involved? What about the CIA?
sciguy37 said:Hey, this information is in plain sight for anybody to read. If you don't do your research before you buy a product in this day and age, you deserve exactly what you get. And before you make utterly ridiculous statements like "I hope this costs Verizon its company", think of the ramifications of those words, you twit. Do you have ANY idea how many peop...
Not everyone has the internet and some who do are not as sophisticated as others. And yes interstate commerce is under the guise of the congress, and the violation of those rules should be looked into. It cost Microsoft millions to settle their problems with the justice department and lets hope it cost Verizon its company or at least a pice of it.

Verizon was being deceptive. The average consumer doesn't have time to go into the nitty-gritty details of bluetooth, and Verizon knows it. People bought the phone with the intention that they could sync it with their computer. Take a look at Phonescoop, and how many people have complained about it! Get the hint? No? That's why you're supporting Verizon. Verizon disabled BT SOLELY FOR PROFIT. That's what swindlers do.

Well, you, I and the rest of the world can argue the merits of this case all we like, but the fact remains that it will be decided by law, which is what the whole judicial process is there for, after all.
You're absolutely right. We just happen to have different opinions on what the outcome of the suit will be. That's all.
I think this VzW rep put things quite nicely:

I would like to know how many csr's have actually been on a sales floor selling phones. I have sold for both a wireless carrier and dealers offering multiple carriers.
Joe Consumer comes into the store and has no clue about anything. If he is informed at all it is usually misinformed. (All those ATTWS/Cingular reps saying that GSM is newer than CDMA and has more coverage and all of thase T-Mobile reps saying their phones have more coverage than any other US carrier)
For them Bluetooth sounds good and they will probably never use it but they want it all unlocked. Most of the time the dealers and company sales r...

I wonder what the numbers are on people who have no access to the internet, yet were really upset at the crippled bluetooth on thier V710.
It is for sure misleading.
And again, even if they were in that situation without the internet, and they purchased this phone with that feature being important to them, it still doesnt explain why they wouldnt test this feature they had assumed the phone had during the 15 day period they are alloted to test the phone and return it for a full refund.

The point i was trying to make is that bluetooth functionality is a kind of a niche tech-head type feature. I doubt many of the people that purchased the phone with the intention of transfing files from thier phone to thier PC via bluetooth, are without internet access.
