I guess radiation decreased

In 1996 there were more powerful cellphones, up to 3 watts of transmitting power. Today I think it's 0.5 Watts. So my guess is that the radiation decreased over time. I am curious what facts the FCC will find.

Considering most studies end with. "...further study (and more research money) is required.", what can they find?

Here's what kind of research can be found.
The one person who has been using a cellphone
longer than anyone else, the inventor of the cellphone, Martin Cooper is still alive!!!
40+yrs Martin Cooper has been using a cellular phone, . . .there, no adverse health effects.

The inventor of the cellphone, Martin Cooper, is STILL
alive. The inventor, as in THE one person using a cellular
radio longer than anyone else, he's still alive and healthy.
So obviously if using cell phones had an adverse health effect, first and foremost, it would effect THE person using it the longest, 40+yrs Martin Cooper has been using cell phones,. . .still alive.

Jayshmay, I am sorry, but if that is your idea of categorical scientific proof, then there may be good reason why you are a security guard and not a scientist.

I agree that there is no danger to using cellular phones, but anecdotal evidence is not evidence.

Remember the original Nokia 5100 series bar phone that everyone and their uncle had? When I was driving I knew a call was coming before my phone even rang because the radio would start buzzing and whirring. I always thought that putting that thing to my head can't be good but at the time they didn't even come with headsets and speakerphone features were unheard of. I agree that there should be limits as to the level of radiation emitted by cell phones but the FCC should stop wasting money trying to go beyond that. With all of the cell towers, repeaters, and wifi networks blanketing the landscape who knows what's causing what. Now what someone should do is create some fabric that is 'proven' to shield your noggin from 'dangerous' cell phone r...

Your Nokia 5100 series was a GSM or TDMA handset. The buzzing through the radio was a by product of the bursty nature of the GSM/TDMA airlink. It was not due to excessive radiation. And current handsets operating in GSM mode cause the same phenomenon.

Hi Jay,

There are many stages of radiation that range from low to high that at a certain point segregate non-ionizing radiation from the more dangerous and damaging ionizing radiation. Most radio waves such as cellphones fall into the non-ionizing category. This does not make it totally safe however as it does fall into the higher category of that non-ionizing spectrum. Microwaves are the next level and then into the infrared before it becomes ionizing.

While cellphone use has so far been cleared of any carcinogenic effects, the point of the study is to place knowledge to the public that cellphone use in large magnetude, can cause health issues long term.

That is why constant studies are conducted. Cellphone use has multiplied man...
