AT&T Would Love to Buy Verizon's 700MHz Spectrum
Bold Face Liar...
They would make some lame operations excuse as to why it could not be utilized at this time and keep it inactive under their control simply to keep it out of the hands of any potential competition.
Is this an IQ test? Are we really supposed to not only ignore AT&T's track record, their anti consumer actions and the plethora of spectrum they currently have tied up as inactive.
Who needs healthy competition anyway. Heck, if were lucky they will forgive us for questioning their intentions and let us off easy by paying nearly full price for our devices, locking ourselves into a 48 month contract for over $200 a month for a single line with 3 gb of data ... As that is where they would like to be with revenue per unit, commitments and network demand...
Just be happy you aren't living in Canada, where all carriers still offer 3 year contracts.

and it's cold 😛 I love Montreal though. Do they really do 3 year contracts? What is it? Bell, Telus, Fido?
There is just somthing in me that twitches when I see a big company play keep away with spectrum that belongs to the American people to begin with.
But my initial point was if I may digress "liar liar pants on fire" !
Tmo followed the GSM upgrade path by upgrading to
JAPAN 21/42. ATTRACTIVE barely upgraded to HSPA 21,
and by the time they did it was welllll into 2010,...too late for me.
Verizon was first with LTE, and will be first with LTE-A.
Now I'm enjoying unlimited LTE d as ta on Vzn.
I just keep thinking that both VZW and AT&T's billing practices are Anti Consumer.. as I recall you have VZW's granfathered unlimited plans.... Hold onto that my friend!
I have a 4GB plan with my carrier. I tether my phone with my iPad. I use FB, have 5 email addresses on both, watch YouTube, browse the web and download apps over the network. I NEVER worry about my plan...I use about 3.5 GB a month. Stop complaining and get over it. Unlimited plans have gone the way of the buffalo!
At 3.5 GB I would consider you a moderate user. 8 to 10 GB would be a heavy user and anyone consistently hitting double digit gigs may be in breech of the acceptable terms of use by an illegal tether or trying to run their household off their smartphone or excessive downloading of torrents etc.
Unlimited data should stay in place for actual handset usage but if there are abusers unfortunately VZW and AT&T have chosen to engage anti consumer billing practices as the new cash cow of data overage has proven to be overwhelmingly profitable.
To assume I am deficient in my knowledge of spectrum and how it works would leave a person quite mistaken.
My post simply stated to paraphrase, I do not believe AT&T will put the lower A and B block of the 700 MHz spectrum to use in the time that they have indicated as this has been reported. Based on their spectrum hoarding and their anti competitive business practices.
Now, that is an opinion. I doubt that I am wrong furthermore, it is my opinion that any spect...

The truth is, you can't say what AT&T would do with the spectrum, but if you look at the facts, you will see that AT&T actually does need that spectrum, and I believe that they would use it for the purpose they say.
Furthermore, what you call "anti-competitive", others call business. They are not a not-for-profit organization, why should they donate the companies that have less? They are not here to make sure mom and pop make it in their business ventures.
Their need for spectrum was shot out of the water when the Tmo merger fell apart.
That was a bit of a stinger on the corporate check book but that is what they get for being so obnoxiously arrogant.
In the T-Mo merger, AT&T did say, they needed the spectrum, the FCC and DOJ blocked the acquisition NOT because they didn't think AT&T NEEDED the spectrum, but because they didn't feel that eliminating T-Mo would be healthy.
Sprint tried to say they could do what they needed with the spectrum they had...but if Sprint knew good business model, they wouldn't be so far in the crap shoot.
Yes, they NEED spectrum. They spectrum they have isn't what they need. They need a different block.
What about this makes me a corporate mouthpiece? Because I support AT&T? Yes I do support AT&T. Simply because ...

So, do you like work for an indirect dealer or a corporate store or are you in a call center either an internal one or Teleperfomance USA or Canada or those beautiful people at Convergys.
Their business practices are anti consumer, anti competitive, and down right predatory for consumers who fail to do any amount of research. When confronted their corporate mouth pieces lie just as easily as they tell the truth. The end will justify the means. God Bless America.
It's just like any other person on this forum to say assume that I do though.
If the only people that support AT&T, are their employees, then why is AT&T so large? You mean to tell me that you are more educated than the over 100 million subscribers AT&T has? Those are big words.
I'm not AT&T's mouth piece. I'm not here to lie to anyone. I just think you are misled. AT&T has done a lot for telecommunications. Their contributions and innovations have helped a lot more people than have been hurt. You pretend to know what is bes...

I have never understood the people who get on here just to 'hate' on some particular carrier.
May be grudge holders. Some carrier 'screwed' them somehow, someway and they carry it to their grave.
If you are totally into God Bless the USA, then you must also be totally into being a real and true american, which is an american that stands by their president ALWAYS.
If there were absoloutly no limits on freedom, I'm sure you can appreciate how totally even more messed up this situation would be.
Bingo. You certainly aren't neutral.
"Yes I do support AT&T"
Confirmation from the horse's mouth so to speak.

I find it interesting that no one is talking about the fact that Verizon has been sitting on this spectrum all of this time and now wants to sell assuming they get the batch of spectrum from the...
