That's a distinct possibility. Deutsche knows that Tmobile can't exactly grow without the spectrum it needs to accelerate its 3g plans. This should be absolutely fascinating. In one corner, you've got Verizon: The company needs the spectrum (to a lesser degree than Tmobile), and it also doesn't need Tmobile becoming more of a competitor than it already is (yes, Tmobile is still a competitor, 25 million less subscribers or not). On the other hand you have Tmobile: They desperately need the spectrum if they're going to continue being competitive in the U.S. The fact that they both may bid through proxies is REALLY interesting, though. I wonder who they've each gotten friendly with?
