These plans are not for everyone

These plans are not for everyone. Some people could benefit greatly from VZW's Share Everything plans.

Example 1:

2 Smartphones - Currently on a 700 min share plan, unlimited texting, both with unlimited data (use less than 4GB total), 4G tablet with 2GB plan, use about 1.5GB)

$69.98+$30+$30+$30+$30=$189.98

New plan: 2 Smartphones, 6GB data, 4G tablet

$40+$40+$80+$10=$170

Savings: $20/month

Example 2:

1 Feature phone - 900 minute talk and text plan, no data

$59.99+$20=$79.99

New plan: $30

Savings: $50/month

Example 3:

2 Smartphones, 2 feature phones, 1 MBB, 1 4G tablet: 2000 minutes, unlimited text, 2GB data on smartphones (one uses almost 2GB, the other only half a gig, none on feature phones, 5GB on MBB, 2GB on tablet

$99.98+$9.99+$9.99+$30+$30+$30+$50+$30=$289.9 6

New Plan: 10GB data shared

$40+$40+$30+$30+$10+$10+$100=$260

Savings: $30/month

Seems to me, the only people who will have a problem with these new plans are the ones that don't need to be on it. Having worked in wireless for the last 5 years, these are very real situations that I run across. These circumstances are actual customers that I have worked with in the past. The people who will not benefit from these plans are the ones that use their smartphone to run their laptop, desktop, PS3, XBOX 360, Wii, and their Roku....at the same time. Guess what: regardless of what you think, that is NOT what cellular data was meant for. Unlimited does not mean unreasonable. And people who use 30GB of data per month on one device are unreasonable. If that's you, that's fine. Stay with your current phone or switch to Sprint where they still have unlimited. But don't attack Verizon for doing something that could help their customers. And don't say that they don't care, because I have just shown 3 examples of how these plans can help customers save money. And if you want to stay with Verizon and use 30GB of data a month, there is an option for that, too.

Let the attacks and excuses begin. But remember, these plans are not for everyone.
