For the most part these new plans will actually make most cell phone bills go down.

In my case I am paying the following now:

89.99 Unlimited Talk and Text
30.00 Data (4GB)
6.99 Insurance
***************************
126.98

What I will pay with the new plan

40.00 Unlimited Talk and Text
60.00 Data (4GB Including mobile hotspot)
6.99 Insurance
****************************
106.99

Now in my book this is a 19.99 savings but I can step up and get more if I like. Talking with my friends and co-workers these new plans will save them money. Plus I am not paying any additional if I use my phone as a mobile hotspot. Most are paying way to much attention to the data pricing when it is actually saving them money.

But if you do not need unlimited voice and text then it's very expensive.

The plan I was considering:
Basic phone (I work outside)
450 minutes $40 (only used 20 to 50 minutes a month)
no text or data on phone
5GB mobile hotspot $50
Total: $90

VZW new plan
Basic phone $30 (savings of $9, still only talk 20 to 50 minutes, still use iPod to text and check email, weather)
4GB of data $70 (additional $20 for 1GB LESS)
Mobile hotspot $20 (no additional data, just access)
Total: $120
Additional $30 for less data and minutes not used

New plan I considering:
AT&T prepaid: $100 a year @ $0.10 a minute.
AT&T 4g Tablet: 3GB of data $30.
Total for AT&T $38.33
Total for VZW $0.00

But if VZW thinks their new plans will bring more...

A couple of things I just left my verizon store and I would like to clear this up for you.

With verizon your basic phone would be $30.00 on a 700 min plan. your jet pack or mobile hotspot with 4 gig of data would be $50.00 it is the same as it was before it is just charged differntly. $20 for the accsess and $30 for the data.

The press releases dose not have all of the info you should talk to a rep but the pre pay is always an option to.

Thank you for letting me know about the basic phone. The only bad part is right now I would pay $50 for 5gb and $10 for every GB over. The new plan is the same price for less data and $15 for every GB over. I.E. $65 dollars for the same 5GB. Thank you though!

Go to your Verizon Store and have them run an Account Analysis for you account. This tool will actually tell you what you are currently paying and how much data you are using on average per month per device. Then it will break down what the new plan would do for you per month charge. I went and done this today and I was amazed by the savings. Three people ahead of me saved a lot more then me. Yes, some people won't save money but overall this is a great thing for the industry.

It's not saving money that's worring me, it's not knowing if I will pay more for them same amount of data if I wait until after June 28. I wish Verizon had said "These plans are only if you want to share data between your devices. Individal data plans will still be offered at the current rates after June 28." I'm just going to wait until the new plans come out and see if they fit my needs. If not then AT&T, Sprint & T-Mobile all offer what I want to add in July.
Thank you for the information though.
