Maybe they are afraid of comittment. A contract may just be too much for them. 🤣

Maybe it's the lower prices you tools. If I'm paying $35 to Virgin compared to $70 at Sprint I'm saving $840 over 2 years. That means my phone is better than free!

I see you point, and don't disagree. If you only have one phone line and want to spend the money for the device, it works for you. I have 5 lines on my account, so prepaid service would actually be more expensive for me along with having to pay retail or close to retail for the phones, so to each his own. Don't think it makes someone a tool, but thanks for the input.

Often, it's not that they don't have money. It's that they have a crummy credit score.

I'm going to repeat my last statement. Anyone who has a fiscal mind knows that saving $840 for 2 years is better than saving $300 on a subsidized phone right now. I have excellent credit and use Metro as my provider. $40 out the door for unlimited everything is a steal, even if the phone isn't cheap.

100% True. Credit is also not an issue, but I have an Android phone with Virgin Mobile. Going on contract is expensive, and the "discount" that you are provided for an upgrade at the end of 710 days is not adequate, not even close. Prepaid rocks.

I agree with both of you. The real problem is the carriers, i.e. the industry. You should be able to use your iphone on whatever carrier you want....prepaid, post paid, etc. The fact that certain phones are designated for prepaid, and certain are for post paid is unnacceptable. I should be able to use and iphone/android phone on whatever network I want. That is when you will see the prices of service go down, when feature phones aren't locked to certain carriers. A lot of the time, customers go to certain carriers because of the phone they offer (cough cough iphone). You free that up, wireless service prices go DOWN.

for me its all about the data. i use A LOT of data so right away i need sprint otherwise i would go broke at another carrier on overages or the ridiculously expensive data plans, also the data plans are smaller and slower through an MVNO so they are out right away.

i want a 200 minute plan with 500 texts and unlimited unthrottled data for less than $50 per month after taxes, fees (sprint), and "additional" line charges (which btw i think is the biggest scam in wireless) and the ability to take my phone to any carrier. that is how phone plans in the 21st century need to be structured.

This is why I will never resign a contract with sprint or any other company. Paying $50 on Sero is more than enough. If my work did not reimburse me for a phone I would look into prepaid for my next phone.
