Sprint May Sell iPhone Via Virgin Mobile

The Sprint companies have a total of ~55 customers.
Sprint signed a contract with Apple that will require them to purchase a minimum of 33 million iPhones, and that's based on the high end price units.

So, they have to effective turn 33 million existing customers into iPhone users or attract enough new customers to fill that void.

Of their companies, only Sprint itself is a contracted service. They include: Includes Sprint Network, Nextel Network, Boost Mobile, Common Cents Mobile, and Virgin Mobile USA

A large portion of their newer additional customers are government subsidized low income users.

What are the chances Sprint gets a 4g ipad once their out & wld that count towards what they owe apple or is it only iphones that count.

I'd say slim. They would have gotten the iPad once the new one was announced or even when the iPhone was announced for Sprint.

My guess is, Sprint didn't have the money to be paying for the iPad as well, or they just wanted the iPhone.

Your math is off, that is over a certain time period longer than 2 years. You would have to assume that those buying iphones now wouldn't buy an iphone when they upgrade or they don't upgrade at all.

You still present a good point, Sprint will have to get a high percentage of people using the iPhone on all of their brands to break even.
