No, Audiovox never actually made any phone. They only distributed, marketed, and supported.
The Sidekick II is made by Sharp, which has an excellent reputation for quality, especially in high-end, complex devices. Audiovox is merely Sharp's representation in the U.S.
And the "new" Audiovox is UTStarcom. They do make phones, but none for the U.S. have come to market yet, and they certainly don't make the Sidekick.
