That sucks..things would have been pretty cool with 64GB of internal and 64GB of a microSD. I wonder what else they took out for the US model.

The quad core processor, although the dual core processor scores better than the quad core in real world testing.

I suspect the 64gb version is in the cards, since it could be used as a leverage point between the S3 and the iPhone 4S.

Yeah I just read the article posted earlier. I had a feeling the dual core would be in the phone instead of the quad. Makes sense though.I just don't get why they announced it with those specs to only change them a few weeks later to better specs. Things should be getting interesting with a possible iPhone announcement next week also.

16 Gigabytes is a HUGE amount of data. But people these days are lazy with their drives and their organization. I remember when I have a 100 MB hard drive on my 486 - if you didnt manage your drive and space constantly, you ran out of room.

With these huge 32 and 64 gig devices, you can be lazy and just leave stuff on there forever and never have to worry about them filling up. As far as music goes, I have over 30 gigs on my computer alone, so 16 would not be enough for me if I wanted ALL my music on my phone.

That's the benefit of MOBILE tech,
being able to take ALL your music with you everywhere you go, and
not having to make sacrifices because
of some puny amount of memory.

Depends on the user, If I threw my ALL of my music, it woundn't be enough. I have over 15GB, but you have to keep in mind it's not true 16GB, it's about 15ish GB.

I use my android phone as a storage device for work. I was hoping to do 64gb + 64gb SD card. I really have files that large that I transfer between work and home.

Nope! 16GB's isn't a lot! I'm using 18 out of 29 available gigs. So no, 16gigs isn't a lot.
When it comes to memory,
it's always best to have more
than enough, than just barely
enough.

Also remember that a nice piece of that 16 is taken by the OS. So it will prolly be about 10 or 11 GB free after such.

Which is even more reason to get the
higher capacity memory.

Desktop PCs have large capacity
hardrives, there's no reason
smart phones shouldn't either.
Everything is moving to mobile
rapidly.

Already Android 4.0+ can be used as a
PC replacement in the form of a USB
stick, with HDMI output.

you can only get 32 gb in the hard drive but it still will take micro SD cards up to 64 so you can still get 96 gb (minus OS and bloatware) which isn't too shabby
