V635..why the memory card?

i dont get it. ths phone cant play mp3's etc. so whats the point of the memory card? to hold a thousand names/numbers?, to hold 500 vga pics?. i dont get it. its not a smart phone with dozens of apps available. so whats the purpose of the expansion card?.

It's actually a megapixel camera, and it does video capture, too, so there's a lot you could potentially store on there.

Also, it only has 5 MB of internal memory, which is next to nothing for a megapixel phone.

I think it might do MP3, too, but I'll have to check on that.

What are you talking about? The Motorola v635 does have an mp3 player....Why else would it have expansion besides video and pics?

The V635 is an upgrade to the V600/V620 format. It has all of the SAME features, i.e - Bluetooth, Mp3 Ringtones, Quad-band etc, PLUS new enhanced features like Video rec., camera flash, Transflash memory expansion, external color disp, EDGE data transmission, and a 1.3 MP camera.

Anyone who's owned the newer V series models will be very glad about the Trans memory, simply because the 5MB internal isn't enough, especially if you have mp3s or Videos on your phone. That is why Motorola fianlly got smart with external Memory support. In the preliminary stages of the V600 production, they were supposed to add either Mini xD or Trans memory along with Video Recording (instead of playback) but apparently they wanted to release 2, basically obsol...
