Bad timing?
I have to admit that I'm a little surprised that they would be willing to roll out ICS before the S3 comes out. I don't know that it would hurt sales all that much, but it certainly won't help.

not supplying ICS to the GSII would have been a big mistake. That is a very new phone, and the customers expect updates to it. Not releasing ICS would have brought their device support into question, not something you want to do when you are releasing a new, very expensive device.

plus with the s2 currently $230 at tmo and the s3 coming out @ $199 the price for the s2 will drop because there people who will want to save $$ and they'll get the s2,
