AT&T CEO Says Data-Only Plans Are Inevitable

I was just pointing out the stupidity of that ceo's comments, as data-only plans are already currently available, and have been for a few years from several carriers. Not in two years - right now.

At&t has just began growing coconuts, and they don't want to share, because, well, they are special coconuts. C-spire wants some coconuts, but from somebody else's palm tree. On the topic, sure, some carriers may offer it if you look hard enough. But all I've heard of, especially from the major carriers, is that voice is required (unless you're deaf) with a phone plan. Can you point me at one of the larger (I'll even take regional carriers like MetroPCS and US Cellular) offer just data for smartphones, without any talk or text?
Of course the prices need to be reasonable, I'm all for that. I am not a person who choses those prices, I'm not the person who is paying those prices. If you are so upset about this you should take your business as far from at&t as you can, and maybe join a lobbying group.
