US Cellular has misleading info on its website....

by yourvoiceofreason    Jun 1, 2012, 12:18 PM

I decided to take a look at their new prepaid plans on its website, and I ran across something that was interesting to me. It says:

"Every Plan Includes:
Call Waiting
Caller ID
Three-Way Calling
Voice Mail
Nationwide Long Distance
International Dialing
International Text Messaging
My Contacts Backup"

Being that I am looking for a cheaper way to call internationally, this caught my attention. This implies that international dialing and text messaging are unlimited and free (with the plans), just like call waiting, caller id, nationwide long distance, voice mail, etc.

To be sure, I did a web chat with a US Cellular associate. At first, he did not even know it said this, and when he saw it, he said that unlimited international calls and text are included to any country.

To double check, I called a retail store and they told me that there would be a charge for both international calls and text. So, I did a web chat with another associate, and this person said that international text messaging is unlimited, but international calls have a per minute rate.

Besides the fact that I am irritated that I could not get consistent info from the 3 associates I talked to, nowhere does it indicate that international dialing would be a per minute charge. It was explained to me "well..the ability to international dial is included, but it cost extra"...If this is the case, couldn't you say the same thing about international text, nationwide long distance, caller id, voice mail, etc, since they are all included together as included features? (But of course, these other features are unlimited..all of them, except int dialing)

Very misleading.... Evil or Very Mad

(P.S. The website displayed this as of June 1st, 1:15 pm EST...If they change the website after this, my rant no longer applies...lol)
