Needed Bigger Improvements

This phone is good and I will buy any imporved version to the 6800 series as it becomes available. However, Nokia could have done much more:

- Go to a higher resolution 208x208 display
- Support attachments (likely an operators issue)
- Add quality CCD 1.3 mp camera
- Go to a series 60 platform
- Multimedia features (stereo sound, mp3, memory)

The 6822 would have been excellent 1 year ago or may be 6 months ago. Now it is a case of too little too late.

The keyboard would still be the major selling point but soon there will be top-notch blackberry phones on the market that would leave it in the dust. Then the question becomes why invest in last year's phone?

this phone improves LEAPS AND BOUNDS over the 6820

the 6820 has only a 4096 color screen
the 6822 has a 65k color screen, i honestly think that the only downfall of the 6820 is the color screen, i have a camera phone already, and my 6820 is my secondary camera phone and i really dont use the cam feature on either phone, i suppose i just havent found the need for it, not to mention the camera phones for the US are still in their infancy stages, i suppose once we get to the level of technology that japan has (5mp cam phones w/ high speed data and 5hrs of video, live update GPS, etc etc etc) then i could really implement the cam function but yeah, even though i will soon be swapping out my 6820 for a 6620 i still think that this is a great ...

to quote temp:

I did, and I am so very glad that I did. First off, the 6620 has a HUGE display, much better than the 6820 and the Series 60 processor. Ever since I gave up my 3600 I wanted it back just for that reason. The expandable mem card and great resolution of the screen/cam/video made this phone well worth is.

As for the 6820 vs the 6822, good improvements but add something that plays voice. No one is interested in polyphonic ringtones anymore. They sound like hell anyway. Almost every other Nokia phone plays voice/mp3s/amrs of some sort. Even though this phone has a built in email box, upgrade the memory a lil bit more and add the voice function. This phone would take...

🙂 Well one reason would be that some people would prefer the phone where it will still be a phone... Albeit I would like the blackberry type better, but for the younger crowd that may not need the e-mail but just the keyboard for text it would be great. 😁
