FCC Greenlights LTE Use in 800MHz Band
certain 2G technology
The constant want to rely on it 24/7, is causing the carriers to raise prices and limit the availability(Data caps, Trottling Etc.)
In short, it would be a good idea to put the device down for a few seconds and switch to WiFi (when ever possible). There are very few places I go that don't have free WiFi or availability. I actually prefer it.

So is 1x and edge allowed in the 800MHz band? If so not just Sprint will benefit because that means the Big Two can refarn its 2G in the 800 band for LTE.
No, neither VZW nor AT&T holds any SMR 800 MHz spectrum. More or less, this amendment to Part 90 rules affects only Sprint and SouthernLINC.

They have a rate plan with unlimited txt & data, and unlimited mobile to mobile for $89/mo? Right?
I have 3 lines, and just myself I pay $120/mo.
I might be a single line on Sprint though. Move my mothers line to my sisters acct. I need to free up money
to spend on other things when I get
home

Actually, it's yes and no.
Sprint and SouthernLinc are the only companies that use 800mhz. ATT and VZW use the 850 band(even though technically it is a different band of 800)...
So it's not that ATT or VZW are barred from using it or that Sprint has an unfair advantage, it's that ATT nor VZW use that spectrum. You can find EDGE and 1x on the 850 bands used by both ATT and VZW. Sprint is "refarming" its 800 for 1x advanced as well.
So yes, ATT and VZW are allowed to use EDGE or 1x on 800 but no they won't because they don't have any 80...
