But the Experia Play series was designed with gaming in mind, you can't very well send out an update that is going to break the primary purpose of the phone. This is the 'Playstation Phone'; that everyone told Sony to make because with the Playstation branding on it it would totally bring them back into the mobile phone business.
The bigger problem I think is that even people who have a Playstation don't want to use their phones for gaming, they want to use them to get work done. I'm an X Box person myself, but I would not have much interest in an X Box phone. The attempt to expand smartphones to gamers doesn't seem to have worked as far as I can tell, but it nevertheless seems like something that should have been at least tried once.
