As a cingular customer you are limited to your providers coverage area. Unlike verizon or sprint which can roam off one anothers networks for a much larger network then cingular.
Limited to a network that is larger than either Verizon or Sprint... Honestly who really does all that much travelling in the areas that aren;t covered anyway. Not to mention just because they are on a map of a company, there is no service guarenteed
