Odd that you mention high speed network. If Verizon has only 30 percent of its network covered in ev-do, then they still have a smaller highspeed network than Cingular. We use EDGE and it's available on almost the entire network. It's not as fast as ev-do, but the service is available nationally.
Now to the HSDPA network in atlanta. It's not just 2 towers and a data card. It's the entire city. These tests were performed in virtually every part of the city and the results were the same. These tests are a true indication of the speed of the technology and you can bank on it. Lucent wouldn't publish those numbers unless it could prove it. Lucent also claims this is just the beginning and it will get faster as the devices are made to handle the networks capabilities.
You can't even compare EVDO to EDGE...EDGE is just plain slow in comparison. As for HSPDA...let it get going in a few major markets where we can test its true potential. As for Lucent not publishing numbers if they couldn't prove them...companies do that every day. Don't be naive.
