This would be a great step forward for Metro PCS.

If the merger happens then Metro PCS will cease to exist as it is today. It won't be Metro PCS anymore. T-Mobile would own them and then merge the two companies into a totally new entity, or maybe keep the T-Mobile name.

I'm sorry to say but that is incorrect if a merger did happen T-Mobile name would no longer be around and Metro PCS would stay.

Remember T-Mobile is about 80% post paid based and Metro PCS is 100% pre-paid. If the stock swap happened T-Mobile would slowly within a couple of years move to pre-paid once the merger is complete.

Let's hope they kill CDMA in the process. I like the open devices that GSM allows.

Not to mention the fact that CDMA call quality is like listening to turtles trudging through the mud.

Me too. I like T-Mo. Would love to see them overtake Sprint as the 3rd largest wireless carrier

Metro does not lease its LTE from Sprint or anyone else. Metro was the very first North American carrier to launch LTE. By the way, they do not lease or even use WIMAX...LTE & WIMAX are not compatible.
