You'd Be Surprised
Earlier this month, there was an outbreak of malware on the Apple Mac OS X platform, the malware targets a vulnerability in Microsoft Office 2008....and before anyone says 'that darn Microsoft just can't make secure software', the vulnerability in question was actually patched in June 2009.....
The malware, targeting a vulnerability that was patched 3 years ago still affected more than 100,000 Macs just last month....
100,000 running Macs on the Internet, who haven't installed a single security update in 3 years....
There comes a point when you can no longer blame the software, if people are still getting hit by a bug that was patched 3 years ago which they never bothered to install, the problem ain't the software, it's the user.
