I agree there is a point where some carriers may get too big, but I also understand that the customers are demanding more and more from the carriers.

To maintain quality phones at a decent price and a fast, good working network for them to operate on costs money.

Carriers must recoup their investment in equipment and maint' of it is some way, and money doesn't drop from the sky, unless you are LightSquared apparently.

We have two carriers who are approaching native footprint national coverage.

Past that, they get smaller and smaller and you may choose from the largest to the smallest, depending on your particular useage.

You also have choices as to what you want to do with your cell phone.
The more you want it to do, the more it's going to cost.

The carriers absolutely have to show a profit, or they are out of business, unless of course you are Tmob, whoose parent company desperately wants to sell them or their towers.
