So, I've read that Verizon released an official statement about the data plans, if you buy the phone for full retail price you can keep unlimited data via new york times.

The devices will "require" the data plan change. Kinda like the Nationwide plan migration.

That's an official statement from Verizon but only time will tell what's really going to happen, if need be I will migrate to Sprint and enjoy unlimted data even though it will be slow.
