Apple didn't mess anything up. Sprint could have said no to the deal and walked away like other smaller carriers have.
Small carriers have no choice but to walk away because the initial cost is very expensive.
The iPhone issue (assuming thats all it is) is a short term problem for Sprint because the money is made up later in the contract term because we all want subsidized phones dam it!
Seriously, I they have done the math and believe they will come out well down the road. ONly time will tell, but you can't tell this early.
