Nothing new here
I have been able to direct connect everyone I used to overseas for almost three months already with my CDMA PTT phone. Also those countries are also switching to a 3G PTT, I wanna know if those are going to still work.
...
Yes they will still work once they transition. However if you travel to those countries right now 3G PTT roaming is not yet supported but it will come in the near future.

That's going to be hard since they are using HSPA+ for their 3G versus our EVO... btw I haven't gotten my PTT to work over 1XRRT yet so I don't know why they make the claim that it works over 1XRRT
...
That claim is based on future capabilities. You will also be able to roam over PTT as well.

I haven't heard a Nextel in a while. I miss my ic502. That was the best phone ever.

I'll be missing my Motorola i580 and i365 phones when they switch off iDEN. Both are great phones, rock-solid, straightforward, easy to use - they just get the job done and done well.
I do wish that Sprint had taken some of the latest Motorola iDEN phones and converted them to CDMA Sprint Direct Connect ("SDC"). I have nothing against Kyocera, but so far the Kyocera PTT phones leave something to be desired, while the Motorola PTT phones are known quantities with near-sterling track records.
I think SDC itself is working quite well now, they just need to fix the Kyocera DuraPlus in particular, and hopefully start adding Motorola-based SDC handsets.
