First off, great phone! I highly recommend it (knock on wood). Go get it! The form factor, features, etc. are all great.
My only challenge so far is getting the installed IM client to work. Has anyone tried it? I get through the sign in and when it starts to get my buddy kist, it freezes. I get a "communication error. check your settings" error. Well, there are no settings (port, etc.) to check. Any thoughts??

i have the same thing i turn the phone on and off and it seems to work not a good fix 😡

i have the dash and sammmeeee exact problem it sucksss and yea just restarting th phone normally dose the trick...
and dose the blackjack ahave a setting to set coustom away messages??

I JUST got the Blackjack a few days ago and I was experiencing the same problem... I used to have JUST a text messaging plan for my contract. I upgraded to a Cingular Data plan, which right now is $29.99 for unlimited data, after I did that, I restarted the phone, waited about 5 min for the changes to take effect and I was able to get EVERYTHING to work... I had the same problems also when trying to use IE etc before I upgraded... I guess you cant use ANY data while just having a text plan? I dont know, but that was my work around...
