I think RIM wants to do one better than Nortel did: Sell what they can before they go bankrupt.

It's a restructuring effort in order to make sure they are profitable moving forward and most likely everything is on the table. Nortel made no such real effort and their lack of focus did them in.
Honestly, it should be much easier for Rim to identify what they need to concentrate on. Nortel had it's hands in so many different areas, no one even them knew what they did 🤣

The article is misleading anyway:

"A number of investment banks have approached RIM over the past several months, vying for a role as financial adviser. But for now, RIM is not expected to hire a banker unless it decides to sell off a major asset or if the company receives takeover interest from an industry competitor, the sources said."

RIM + LAW FIRM = Help Restructuring

The "Bankers" could come later when you can gladly watch the RIMJOB 🤣

RIM is nowhere near bankruptcy, they posted a PROFIT of more than $2 billion in 2011....
