Yes it is crazy that people actually pay for the things that they want to buy? Feature phones are just as important as smartphones. I am personally a smartphone user but there are a ton of people that don't want to pay for a datapackage and would like to enjoy their phone simply as a phone. I work for Verizon and I can say myself that if a company were to be exclusively smartphone biased then said company would lose a ton of revenue and favor.

Even so, $80 is high. Verizon is definitely pushing people into smart phones.

But in my opinion with high end smartphones being offered for $0 with upgrade, it seems unreasonable of a company to expect a customer to pay $80 for a feature phone.

I was merely commenting on the price, not the validity of the phone type.
