How does 800mhz LTE compare to 700mhz LTE?

You wont notice any speed difference because of a frequency difference that small. The largest difference in speed is determined by how much of the 800/900 MHz Sprint will use for LTE. They need at least 10 MHz channels up and down to compete with VZW/AT&T, and a good backhaul link. Sprints 1900 MHz LTE will not be as quick because they are using 5X5 channels. Too little spectrum to keep up with the big boys.

And they do, it's just tied up in things like legacy networks (Iden). Once they convert customers off those spectrums they are free to reuse them for LTE.
And for the record, with no one on the network, it would be hard to gauge what the final speeds will be. I can say test speeds are 40 Mbps down when only 1 guy is testing the LTE equipment, but that is certainly not real world, add to the fact Verizon's test runs were just as fast, you now have to compare what Verizons run at today with all the actual customers now on it.

So far, it's only the 1900 LTE doing the 5x5. This doesn't affect speed. It affects capacity. Sprint has a ton of towers though. I haven't read how The lower spectrum for 800 will also improve building penetration. Over all I think the 800 will hold it's own nicely against the other guy's 700 band. I think the idea of lighting up 9600 towers with 800 LTE just made the "big boys" drop a loaf.

I'm guessing you are saying that because you think capacity will be an issue. It won't be. We are still only talking about 1900 LTE on the 5x5 channel. 800 LTE hasn't been determined. The other way to overcome capacity issues is to have more towers... which Sprint does.
