What we need is for RIM to go back to its roots and make enterprise two-way communication/email devices and shatter their consumer market and for Apple to shut the **** up and stop suing everyone under the sun over the patents that Apple only dreams of having...

I disagree 😁
This site is full of people essentially in the consumer market saying hilarious things like RIM "needs to get back in the game" and "needs to step it up" and "nothing new has come out from RIM since 2005".

In other words what I am saying is that the consumer market thinks RIM stuck too much to its roots!

RIM should have never entered the consumer market. The consumer versions of Blackberry are nothing but garbage with most consumers replacing them for an Android or some other device.

The consumer market really found RIM. As people adopted smartphone and carriers pushed them because they can make a bundle off of them, Blackberries were already around. In the "early days" there really were not that many good choices. Their current OS is just a more refined and polished version of what they have had for years

Seriously? Patents on scrolling, double tapping? That is like Nike patenting walking. How can the patent office any basic function like this be patented?
