Re: A swing and a miss from Nokia
The fact that WP isn't as popular right now doesn't have anything to do with the OS not being good, because it is. That's not the issue. It strives to not be another iPhone clone when it comes to the UI. The issue has and still is, until now, the lack of public awareness. People were not being told accurate info by sales reps, being discouraged altogether or poor promoting by the OEM's and carrier(s) that claim to support the WP.
From my experience, I've had Tmobile and ATT reps try to tell me things about WP they obviously had no clue about. Their info was based on people who had no clue on how to use the phone and no desire to really give it chance, because they were coming form Android, iPhone or Blackberry. I had researched and read everything relating to WP at the time, when I was looking to upgrade and it was just astounding to hear some of the garbage that they spouted, without really knowing what they were talking about. The mind set is just sad in general, that people can't seem to see beyond Android or iPhone. Again, I'm not saying anything is wrong with either one and both have their pro's and con's as well. It's all a matter of choice AND I like the fact that I don't have to settle for either or.
For that matter, I also hope that Blackberry can do well in the next six months to a year.
