If someone wanted to listen to streaming music, Metro PCS is favoring the packet data of Rhapsody over competing services such as Pandora, SlackerRadio, etc. They're basically saying that 100 MB of Pandora is not equal to 100 MB of Rhapsody. Hell, they're saying 100 MB of Rhapsody is less of an issue than 1 MB of Pandora!

Unless I misread the article, it says exactly the opposite about counting "all data the same". It specifically said that:

$60 buys unlimited talk, text, and 5GB of data (but unlimited access to Rhapsody streaming);


The way I read that is that it is saying any amount of binary data from Rhapsody is given preferential treatment in that it does not count against your allotment, as apposed to competing services counting against the 5 GB.

Rhapsody usually costs $10/month for subscription, but the $60 plan includes Rhapsody for free.

The data used on Rhapsody still counts against the caps, but it is unlimited due to data is throttled after 5GB.
