So that would imply that you would have been okay with the AT&T/Tmo merger even if it meant higher prices, because both AT&T and Tmo have been increasing their 3g network speeds for well over 2 years.

No. Neither ATT, or Vzn have room to increase their prices. Their prices are already as high as the avg consumer can tolerate. I'm willing to pay for Vzn's service because I wanted to be among the first customers in the U.S. to have LTE.

It's too high for what you might consider. I personally find AT&T to be the best for my money. (Granted the day that changes is the day I switch)
(Double side note: I'm not really going after what you are saying, just more the mindset of what I see on this board more and more of "I want it all and I want it for practically nothing.")
