Android software updates are suppose to be OTA. 700mhz LTE is PLENTY capable of handling the 150mb or whatever the file size is. I am so glad I left ATT 2yrs ago.

Jay,
I was thinking sort of the same, but even Samsung is not doing ota's for the SGS2 International version, has to be done via Kies. (really nasty program too) All in all either way its not a big deal, at least the VIvid IS getting ICS faster then most others.

And use up all your data....that's why it's WiFi only, so people aren't forced to use up all their data for a simple firmware update...

but most software updates happen automatically. So if you're just using your phone out and about, and suddenly your phone starts updating, it might confuse someone who hasn't heard of this.

And not everyone is using their LTE phones in an LTE area.

Making the update need Wi-Fi is really the best way to ensure that everyone has the best situation to update.

If your trying to say you actually achieve 10mb/s when downloading then you are nieve. Most places have a cap on what they will upload so you never see the full capability of your service provider. I have RoadRunner which is suposed to be 40mb/s . I have never even seen 10.....

Is this really worth complaining about? Almost any public place offers free wifi....
