Does this mean my 710 will be able to turn into a GPS?

Hmm.

So does this mean even the the 710 only has agps that it will be able to be used for gps based driving directions as well?

I hope that this technology is software based and backwards compatible!

Yeah that would be nice. That means we wouldnt have to buy a car with a navigation system installed, or buy navagation system. Those things are very expensive its like $1,000 for a cheap one then go up to like $3000 or more.

now if that works we will need to have a way to atatch an external monitor or something so you don't get into a crash or something?

It should be. It's up to Verizon to launch LBS and make that service available to Motorola and other developers. When that happens, it should be backward-compatible with all recent phones. Certainly for Mobile Web, at least, and I believe via Get It Now as well.
