I thought that at&t had already bought Cellular One actually....or at least when I was an at&t employee there was a whole section of company policy telling us what to do with a 'former Dobson Communications or Cellular One customer'.

In 1977, the American Radio Telephone Service and Motorola formed Cellular One to offer service to the Baltimore/Washington, D.C., area. From there through acquisitions, the name bounced to around 16 different owners to its current owners Trilogy Partners.

Wikipedia says that most of Cellular One was acquired by Dobson Communications in 2005, and then Dobson was bought by at&t in 2007, but the name 'Cellular One' was sold to Trilogy Partners who now operate a small network in 16 markets, but which now has no real connection to the previous Cellular One that was owned by Dobson....

What a mess....
