"Problem is, if you look you will see Kodak has become just as bad as Apple is patent suits. "

Ummmmm...Apple explicitly targeted Android for destruction, they admitted that their goal was to completely eliminate the competition and force it off the market forever. What company or product has Kodak targeted for extinction?

The fact is that for most companies patent infringement lawsuits' are just business by other means, it ain't personal, and the goal isn't destruction, the goal is simply to force the other company into negotiations.

Apple's lawsuits against Android are of a different nature. Apple didn't sue HTC, Motorola and Samsung becuase they were trying to force them to the negotiating table. They sued these companies because they want to completely destroy Android and remove it from the market altogether.

Steve Jobs even admitted this, in the authorized biography released just after his death, Jobs is quoted as saying that

“I will spend my last dying breath if I need to, and I will spend every penny of Apple’s $40 billion in the bank, to right this wrong. I’m going to destroy Android, because it’s a stolen product. I’m willing to go thermonuclear war on this.”

That kind of fanaticism is of a fundementally different character than the lawsuits being pursued by the likes of Kodak and all the other companies out there filing patent infringement lawsuits.

For Kodak, a patent lawsuit is a way to force negotiations, for Apple, a patent lawsuit is a way to completely eliminate the competition.

It's not the same.
