256 MB not enough ?

256 Megabytes should be enough for those functions, if it isn't, that's a pretty inefficient mobile operating system.

The OS is pretty efficient. It was never designed for phones with less than 512 memory. The fact that they could actually get it to run on a phone with half the memory shows that it is very efficient. What users get with low end Tango phones is, a slightly watered down version of Mango. But, as I said, to get that to run on phone specs never meant to run Mango and not loose too much of the core experience shows efficiency. They still have access to 95% of apps in the market place. Unlike Android, that alone is a something worth mentioning.

My only question would be, where do they go from here once Apollo comes out. My guess would be, the cost of phones with a minimum of 512 memory will be much cheaper and they can take the place of the c...
