I was about to say that 'even Apple wouldn't be so petty as to claim a copyright on the word 'store' and all its possible variants'....then i remembered this is APPLE we are talking about, so sadly you are probably right.

You fanboi's are worse then those who ride the special needs bus to school. Google pulls a boner by changing the name of their app store, and you blame Apple? One question, do you where one of those football like helmets so you don't beat your head against the wall?

It's funny that I'm being called a Google fanboy when usually I'm accused of being a Google hater.... 🤣

I completly agree with that. If something is popular, the name should never ever be changed.

names build a brand. this is a big mistake.

Sometimes they do it to try and change the stigma behind the name even if its popular. I would agree that its a risky move. But the TL is pretty well known today. I own a TL and love it!!!

The Google name is obvious. They want to sell to more than just people with Android devices, so the Google name makes more sense.

Play's a little tougher, but obviously they're looking to push the book, music, video, and game business over the more productivity based apps. I don't know what the market share or profit margin differences are, but it looks like they see more money there.
