over in the "Sony Xperia S" discussion:

i LOVE this phone but...

I've got a "thing" for Sony, between my first Sony Ericsson (the Z500) and the next one i eventually got (the W580), and all the other Sony product i've had and still do (mainly proud of my PS3),... For the longest i've been wishing/waiting for Sony to up their game though and start pushing in on the smartphone movement like i know they can. Needless to say, my interest started peaking with the Xperia Play, then the Xperia Ion, and as soon as i noticed that they dropped the "Ericsson" title i knew they were getting serious 🙂 ... but something was still missing...

NOW, and i say now lightly because its been months (almost a year), they have the Xperia S! From the specs to the unique physical design, I LOVE THIS PHONE! but there are a few...

Too bad it didn't lose the "Xperia" name too

Memo to Sony, and the less-than-intelligent executives who run it:

"Xperia" has no brand equity. It is a worthless moniker. It has been attached to three generations of pure crap. Please stop attaching it to all of your also-ran products.
