Phone update

I have had phone almost since it came out.
I bought it cause I wanted a phone with a large screen, the screen is the best feature, it was a little buggy some things like the wifi hot did not work and that is why I bought this phone cause I have a laptop, the camera would close the phone would restart, it did not have a good signal.
I went to the tmobile store and they gave me a new sim card and it seemed to have a better 4g signal bit still buggy,
Since I did the software update to ICS android it seems to have fixed most of the phones issues, except it seems that it still does not have a great 4g signal, and it seems to use the battery even faster, so I go into the settings and switch to 2g and battery last all day,
I think the problem ...

If you get into the task manager and shut off all running programs in the back ground, that helps alot. Sometimes, I turn the mobile network offf, under additional settings, and the GPS and the battery lasts a whole lot more

On phone scoops specs it says it has Android version 2.3.4, but you can upgrade it to vervion 4.0, How?
HTC website does not say how to do it?

NFC Capability

I love the NFC function on the Amaze. I am using the NXP Tag Writer App and the NFC Task Launcher App along with tags from
http://www.buynfctags.com » .
They have a variety of stickers, key chains, cards, etc.
I have tags where I can just tap it and it will open up Facebook, turn on my alarms, and turn on/off my wi-fi. I also have tags that just store my contact information so I can give to other people.

camera / phone issues??

I was using the camera the other day and went to take a pic and touched the screen and it went from the camera app to the home screen?
it did this twice and not since.
I am trying to like this phone but it seems buggy.
I tapped on the home screen and it shut off?
I tapped on the home screen the screen it was black then realized it seemed off so I touched the power button and it came on?
Anyone else out their have this phone have any problems?
there does seem to be an issue with the camera when pressing the button it doesnt go to the camera as fast as they say but did a master reset and had to send my phone in at the end phone does have it's flaws but what phone doesnt .. 🙄

form

I see it seems like I am the only one out their with an amaze, and I don't want to seem like I am bashing the phone but the more you use a product the more you find how it works and feels.
ok that said the the form the size is not to bad a little larger than my last phone a mytouch, but it has a bigger screen, what I wanted, But the metal plastic case is kind of slippery in your hand and a little hard to hold onto and may be easy to drop. my mytouch had a kind of rubberized outer edge that made it easy to hold onto.
The buttons, well the only ones that are good are the camera and video buttons they are in a good location on the phone and they work like they are supposed to.
The power button and the volume buttons, well maybe these button...

WCDMA bands

Does this T-Mo phone really have the 850 and 1900 MHz WCDMA bands as the specs here indicate? I see different specs depending where I look, even on the T-Mo web sites. The following link, for instance even adds the 900 MHz band:
http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-2614 »
On the other hand, the following link
http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/Phones/cell-phone-detai ... »
only shows the usual T-Mo UMTS bands I & IV. So what is it really?
The world may never know! 😳

Wifi Calling is on board

In fact the Amaze uses the same "special sim" as the Galaxy S II to achieve a newer, smoother wifi calling experience, so you must use the SIM in the retail box if you want wifi calling.

(Apparently most live demos and review units are using a standard 4G sim though, which seems odd.)
IMS-based Wi-Fi Calling is coming soon. To use this feature on their HTC Amaze 4G, customers will need to use the new SIM card that comes with the phone.

Make sure customers backup the data on their current SIM and activate the new SIM card so t...
