They should be improving their sorry ass Google apps for android. Well maybe they aren't sorry but you get my drift. I'm in a bad mood today.

Is this the way around the tight grip that Apple has with its store?
but does this compromise convenience? Now how will they supplement the lost conveience of having an app on your homescreen, but wouldn't manufactures just create an web bookmark available to be stored on the homescreen (if this doesn't already exist I would be surprised)? if so one could just simply go to the web version of all the apps they would like to replace and save the webpage as a bookmark on the homescreen and just launch from the homescreen with one click just as conveient as an app.
Maybe I'm stretching my imagination too far.
