Are they waiting for another disaster to occur?
It's funny how the CTIA has suddenly gotten involved with this mess...someone is throwing around alot of money to derail Nextel. I wonder if they'll all feel satisfied with themselves after the next disaster hits and lives are lost due to the current spectrum mess?

The Plot Thickens.
It's funny how some people think that Verizon's a knight in shining armor in regards to this spectrum mess. The only reason Verizon's all over the FCC's ass is because they don't want Nextel getting spectrum in the 1900 mhz band. This spectrum would A) Help Nextel to become a legitimate CDMA threat to Verizon, and B) Make it THAT much harder for Verizon to buy them out...a carrier that operates off a 1900 mhz band is going to be MUCH more expensive to buy (not to mention that I think Verizon covets the Qchat push to talk protocol that Nextel and Motorola hold the rights to).
