Waiting, it's worth it...

People would always complain about Verizon not getting phones fast enough, and yet people still stayed with them. Why? Because the wait was worth the quality.

Same situation here. I've had a Bold for over a year, and I'm happy with it. In fact, I probably won't upgrade until a QNX device comes out.

Is This The End For Me and RIM?

I was really looking forward to this phone, always loved the Bold and with the touchscreen it was always what I wished for, but... looks like RIM is really getting to the point where it is time to consider a different phone (and I have been a blackberry fan for many, many years). Hate to say it but the iphone would be where I would go. I have the ipod and have to admit the programs (and there are so many more) are better but it is the lack of a keypad that has always kept me away from it. Maybe this old guy can get used to it, its spell checker is so good that it somewhat makes up for the lack of a keypad but I have never loved it when using the ipod. Would wait for the iphone 5 to switch (which is coming out close to the same time - big...

I have the Bold on Verizon now and I have an upgrade making my palm itch to use on something ... is it time to switch platforms? I need a smartphone with an excellent hardware keyboard and I'm so used to how RIM does things, solid, stolid, and profes...

Well I have to agree that I am a little perplexed as well regarding them holding the Bold 3 off for the time being. However, given RIM's reputation for fantastic products (all Playbook jokes aside lol), I would wait just a WEE bit longer.

If you TR...

Merger Maybe - RIMM, Nokia, & MS

Maybe we will see RIMM and Nokia merge then get bought by MS. This would be the best way to clean this all up - kinda like tying 3 bricks together, throw them in the deep end, and see how they swim...
This is hilarious, especially since the #1 seller in the world of celluar phones is Nokia!

Maybe not

Well I was looking forward to this phone. But delay's, layoffs, wonder how quality control will be on this new device? 😕
Perhaps RIM truly is dead.
I think if RIM just pushed this device out now and upgraded to OS 7 later when it's ready, they may keep more consumers. The longer they wait the more they get trounced by the competition.
Hah, you said you were looking forward to this phone. Hah, good one, mang. Serisouly, you should be a comedian, I mean, I laughed, right? Nobody would notice if this phone didn't come out. Seriously. We have phones coming out that have 1.4Ghz pro...

Maybe RIM/Blackberry needs to scale back on Hardware and focus on Software and license it other hardware developers.

Kind of like what Steve Jobs did with NeXT Computer's (The company he founded after leaving apple). This way they can push their pr...

Might be too late because they are bleeding customers by the thousands. To many touchscreens from too many manufacturers for RIM to contend with. Customers are switching to the cheapest 3" touch screen they can find whatever that might be. RIM thoug...

I dont think we will see the Bold this year.

RIM was taken down by the App Store if nothing else this was one RIM never saw coming till it was to late same as Nokia. Apple makes phones that work well with apps like a kid in a candy store. RIM had the best phone but what about apps.
Dead wrong. The device has already been officially announced. Next year you will see QNX based devices. The Bold is basically an interim device being released to fill the gap.
