Not even a year!

Good memory you've got there. Seems like ATT has some very anti-consumer policies.

I really do wonder why so many customers continue to cling on to ATT.
...
The key phrase you are missing here:

“Only customers who are not yet upgrade eligible or who do not want to sign a contract are impacted"

And that is a very, very, very small number of people.

Grow up and get over your entit...

Isn't that actually a DECREASE?

When I worked for at&t the early upgrade charge was $75, and it didn't matter if it was for a smartphone or a feature phone, it was $75 period.

If it is now only $50 for smartphones and $10 for feature phones that sounds like the charge has been REDUCED.

😕
You're looking at it backwards. The reason it was a $75 charge was because the phones generally got discounted down 150 bucks, so it's actually a 75 discount at that point.

Now they're not going to discount them as much on early upgrades.

Their the worse!!

I don't understand how people swear by AT & T just because they have the iphone. I look at the plans and its high for no reason! I'm with Tmobile now, and after this merger that's coming..I'm not staying. I'm going to go to Verizon. If I'm going to pay let me pay for good service.
Yeah, I don't get it either. So many people cling to ATT.

"Their the worse"?????? How about They're the worst. I love how all of the idiots on this site have the strongest opinions.
Their = Possessive
"That is THEIR carrier"
They're = They are
"THEY'RE the worst"

Ain't grammar wonderful?

People stay cause they're afraid of change. Also, the loudest people tend to be the upset ones. If there are 100 people in the room get...

Terrible

Raising the prices on devices that can't even hold calls. AT&T gets worse everyday.

What's next, a cap on dsl and u-verse? Oh wait, they already did!
😡
This is early upgrade pricing. Meaning this is a discount on the prices from full price that someone pays if they're *NOT* eligible to upgrade.

Some companies don't even discount them.
...
Cam you read? It's for EARLY upgrades, i.e. the people who want to buy a new phone every 6 months because the one they have is no longer 'hip' and demand a discounted price every time.

Not like actual CONTEXT matters apparently... 🙄

You guys do understand this is for their early upgrade policy right????

This effects those who get the huge discount with a 2 year contract only to come back after 6 months wanting to do an upgrade again.

Sure it sucks that the price is going up, but the 6 month discount is not something a lot of carriers do anyway.
Yeah i don't know why anyone is complaining.
T-mobile currently offers No discount for an early upgrade.
All people see is "bumps" and "prices" and they'll go crazy. That's all it takes. Plus this site is rampant with everyone who is anti-everyone else, but they only come out when a newpost is posted about the company they hate. Ironic.
In addition to that it is only for upgrades done at the store, call customer care and if you need a phone badly you can upgrade early through them and avoid the fee altogether.

Merger!

They have to get the $39 Billion from somewhere.. 😉
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
That's right for sure. They made money by the barrels with the iphone so now that their exclusivity is gone their sticking it to everyone. They're gonnna need 39 billion and more with everything they're planning. I know a contractor that services cell...
