Maybe Sprint too? too much to ask?

🙄

Given the success of spint's secret roll out of the sony bluetooth phone maybe sprint can get a decent phone, is that too much to ask?

Release Date?

I just bought a Samsung SCH a610. I am not thrilled with it. Based on this new Motorolla release I would prefer to wait - but how long? Does anyone have a remote clue when this new phone will be on the market? Months? Years?
Summer at the very earliest. End of the year seems more likely. But it's all just guessing at this point. 😉
Does anyone know of more detailed specifications on this phone, such as the resolution of the camera, how many colors the display will have, battery life, etc...
Thanks

Photos Don't Match- Top Buttons Different?

Okay, which picture is really the V710?

The home page story with the two smaller photos shows a top row of buttons that are "squared off" for the lack of a better term. In the details page, the buttons have angles to them radiating out from the navigation rocker button.

So- which picture is the actual phone and which one was/is a mock-up?

Did they make a custom keypad for Verizon?
Both versions were in the FCC documents. One was obviously an earlier prototype. The all-white one with the "square" soft keys is almost certainly the earlier version. The final look seems to be the other one, with the keys styled more like other rece...

MP3 ringtones for Motorola V710?????????????

Does anyonw know if the phone will have MP3 ringtones. That is the only feature missing, it appears.
I would say 93% chance the answer is yes.

In fact, my sources indicate it may even have full MP3 playback. It does have a miniSD card slot, which definitely opens up that possibility. 😎

What about the speaker phone

I currently have a Timeport 270c, so the next phone needs to have a speakerphone equal to or better than what I currently have, does the V710 have it???????????????/
I'm 98% sure that yes - it does... but not 100%.

Page 48 of the user manual describes an integrated speakerphone. Looking at the internal photos, there certainly seems to be a large speaker and grille on the back below the battery.

However, page...

Love Motorola

I'm a big fan of Motorola cell phones and can't wait until the new Bluetooth Motorola is available. I currently have an old StarTac that has been great but now want a Bluetooth phone. I'm currently with Verizon, but they seem very slow to adopt Bluetooth. I understand that AT&t will carry this phone. Does anyone have information about availabilty from Verizon or the service of AT&T?
Thanks
AT&T works on a gsm network and Verizon Works on a CDMA network so this phone will not be available for at&t users, sorry

Any rough estimate on the release date?

I know that Verizon "vigorously" test its phones, but I'm hoping that this phone will be out before the summer? Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

Antenna?

Anyone know why they keep putting retractable antennas on these phones, they break way to easily. Why not have stubs on all of them?
The reason for this is because it is a tri-mode phone. Any phone that carries an analog signal for Verizon will carry a retractable antenna.

ChiMei???

This phone is from ChiMei company from Taiwan like MPx200 or not??? 🙄
As far as I can tell, this is a Motorola original design.

Certainly, the MPx200 was rare in that I'm not sure started out as a Motorola phone at all - it was a Chi Mei phone later adopted, tweaked, and branded by Moto.

Sometimes it's hard to tel...
