They really blew it here...

I was rooting for them too but this is a FAIL.

Smaller screen (subjective but most are calling it a bigger phone)
No WiMAX
High Price

FAIL FAIL FAIL!!!!

They really had an opportunity here to give Apple a run for it's money but once again Samsuck comes up short.

What should have happened was Amazon getting together with a company like HTC and creating a Kindle Pad along with an 9" AMOLED screen, FFC, kickstand, Android 2.2, WiMAX and all the goodies. Once again due to ignorance and arrogance they missed a golden opportunity.

Apple may be hated and their products may be overrated but one thing they do know is what people want.
I wouldn't go so far as to say Apple got it right simply because Samsung got it wrong.

Sprint - Overpriced Tab Data Plan!

OMG - Sprint has shot themselves in the foot again. Why a contract? They should provide the data at the least cost and at least match Verizon and AT&T on data prices - in fact as the #3 provider they need to be cheaper to attract more business. Offer the unit just as Apple does the iPad WiFi+3G with a month to month data service you can turn on and off as needed online. I'd pay the full $599 price with no contract and the ability to turn on and off the data as I need it.

Sprint will loose the potential competitive edge here to gain on AT&Ts iPad and iPhone sales and get back some of those lost customers. They need to be more competitive and offer more customer choices.
Sprint still has the advantage!

Verizon is not offering a discount
(only full price $600)
1gb for 20$

Sprint is offering both
399.00 on contract
600.00 off contract
2gb for 30$
5gb for 50$

But if you have a Evo or Epic! Come on I know ...

Now $400 seems high

The Fascinate retails at $579 so the Tab at $599 didn’t seem so bad. But the Fascinate on a 2 year is $200, so $400 for the Tab on a 2 year? Now that seems a bit high.
Agreed. The WiFi only version is only $500 and nearly any Android cell can activate hotspot to share the 3G connection.

Why sign a two-year deal at $30/month ($720) to save a measley $100 up front?

The only reason I can see to do that is if you ...
