Nokia Divests MetaCarta

something wrong with this picture?

Why would Nokia acquire a company in April, and then divest them in July? It just seems a little wierd, and I wish I knew more about the situation. Perhaps things didn't work out as planned, or Nokia got themselves into another bad deal. I like Nokia, and I worry about them because I would still like to have the choice to buy a Nokia handset in the future.

Maybe there is nothing particularly wrong going on, but I still worry because of the way things have gone in the past year.
It could just be that certain things were pulled from the company and the rest of it's resources had to be divested once the transition was complete. It took about 6 months for the acquisition of Cellular One before their market and resource divestitu...

1. Nokia still sells more phones than all other manufacturers combined. Just because they don't sell well in the US doesn't mean they are about to go bust.
