Let's get rid of subsidized phones...

Seriously, I would love to just get rid of the option so folks realize what they are really paying for. Sure, they won't get a phone every two years...or they might just because that's how long it would take them to save up to get one. But it would put phones more in line with TV's or Blu-ray players...
I second that motion.

Thats what you are suggesting here. Eliminate choice.

What happened to educating the consumer on those choices. Maybe that is a better idea.

I'm more a fan of there being other incentives for buying the phones retail (discount per month, maybe extra minutes, etc) I don't think subsidized phones are going away, I just think we need more options presented.
...
I'd like a discount on my phone.

A big discount.
...
get your discount every two years of service but you have to pay full retail when you first sign up.

So instead of getting discount for signing a 2yr agreement.... just give consumer a discount every two years for using the service 24+ months

idk man, wouldnt that kinda defeat the purpose of post paid companies? and then destroy the market for smartphones. everybody would do the cheaper, pre-paid phones. and as far as i know, the only people that walk around with 500 bucks burning a hole i...

Advertise the no committment price and then when they are willing to sign a contract tell them their price.

Its a dream but just anything to make ppl realize what they are getting and maybe save some trouble later by making them appreciate it. Sad ...

21Million to VZW is like a penny from a bum.

Most of that money is chump change. Instead of the money the lawsuit should have changed "how" those ETF policies are negotiated or prorated. VZW didn't want to deal with lawyer fees so its cheaper to pay it off.. So next time someone can't sue for the same thing hence they paid a 21M for a "Get Out of Free ETF Card" All they can do now is refer to this case.

i hope apple pay alot more!!

to settle the iphone4 defect when they know it exists but instead of fixing the issue, they making some BS excuses for it!
...I absolutely love how there is so much hate for Apple that it can be brought up in a case that has nothing to do with the company or the issue (that appears on any other phone where the antenna is blocked).

Can we just have a single post without...

If you don't like the piece of ish phone, TAKE IT BACK AND DON'T BUY ANOTHER ONE! Simple as that. Stop whining about how Apple deserves to pay because you were stupid enough to buy something on the first run instead of waiting till they worked all t...

Good

They got what they deserved. the artical was a little confusing to read but it seemed like they didn't fully disclose the ETF's to people. If thats the case good, not disclosing all the infomation is fraud play and simple. Every dog has it's day.
You do realize that 21 million isn't really all that much to Verizon and the bulk of any class action settlement goes to the lawyers?
