russia??

and how does that affect the wireless industry in USA?
Because there are people who what or need to travel to Russia and what technology is available there can determine what provider they choose here.

Also, I wasn't aware phonescoop was only available in the US
This site isn't just for the USA. Der.
One can safely assume the site is oriented toward US users given the absence of international mobile news. Also, please take note of the Carriers section.

Unfortunately WiMax, despite its advantages, is going to have one helluva uphill climb to be the dominant 4G tech.
Where is the first nail?? What are those "sputters and fits"? Last I checked, Sprint will have a 120 million 4G footprint by years end. Verizon will not have 4G until mid-2011 at the earliest. At&t will not have 4G until sometime in 2012, so... who is...

WiMAX doesn't need to be the dominant 4G variant. It just needs to be a viable choice. And as it currently stands, it is the only choice. 😉

And the article refers to US companies with their potential international roaming so it is very relevant, especially to all the russian customers out there, which there are many! If it doesnt pertain to you, ignore it, someone does care or it wouldnt...
